Step 1: Send Photos
Please email 1-3 high resolution images to caralightman@gmail.com. If you can zoom right in and still see details then great! Otherwise images are pixelated making it difficult to draw the necessary features for a successful portrait. Cara will select the best photo to work from that will present best in a portrait UNLESS there is a specific photo you’d like her to work from.
How a portrait comes together
Step 2: select preferences for you portrait
There are a few details required to get your portrait started. Please select the size and layout/orientation you’d like your portrait to be. You may request multiple sizes if you are unsure. Next, please specify any accessories, colors, text or background shapes and images you’d like to incorporate. This is a custom portrait, please feel free to get creative!
Step 3: Review Drafts
Confirm the size of the portrait, provide any changes or feedback to improve the portrait and select your preferred background, accessories and text.
Step 4: Receive your final digital package
Your final package will always include your portrait with a plain white and transparent background as well as your background and extra details of choice. You will receive PDF, JPG and PNG files to use at your discretion. Keep in mind these different file types use different color codes (jpg uses cmyk for print and png uses rgb for digital) so your portrait will slightly vary in color when it is presented digitally and on paper. Once again, you will receive digital files to print as you see fit!
Step 5: Continue to use your digital portrait
You’ve invested in a portrait that can be used multiple times. Print your portrait on canvas, cardstock, poster etc. THEN, use your portrait again on pillows, mugs, t shirts, golf towels and more. There are multiple local and online vendors with many printing options.
